TENURE OR TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN CLINICAL NUTRITION
The Division of Clinical Nutrition, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, is recruiting a physician-scientist for a tenure track position to provide leadership in nutrition research and training, and to support the clinical nutrition program. The ideal candidate should be an accomplished basic, clinical, or translational scientist in nutrition, or a related field, with a strong track record of federal research funding. The candidate should have demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary groups for training and research. The position includes responsibility to develop and lead an innovative and engaging nutrition thread in the medical school curriculum.
The position is a state-supported, tenure-track professorship with a guaranteed salary base, outstanding fringe benefits, and competitive start-up funds. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment in the Division of Clinical Nutrition, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The Nutrition Division has a long and distinguished history in research, teaching, and clinical care. The current faculty includes those with joint or secondary appointments in the School of Public Health and the School of Nursing.
Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated success in leadership of a research program. The primary area of research in the division is the treatment and prevention of obesity and obesity-associated diseases. Other areas of research include the role of nutrients, phytochemicals, and botanical dietary supplements in the prevention and treatment of common forms of metabolic disease, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
