Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor
The Movement Disorders Program in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, Los Angeles is recruiting for a new faculty position for further expansion of our Deep Brain Stimulation clinical program in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery.
Requirements & Job Summary:
The successful applicant must have completed a movement disorders fellowship including training in DBS (two years preferred, by the start date of employment) or hold an Assistant Professor position with expertise in clinical Movement Disorders and DBS. The applicant must have outstanding clinical and teaching skills with specific expertise in DBS pre-surgical assessments and DBS programming of movement disorders patients. The applicant will participate in the clinical, teaching, and research activities of the UCLA DBS Program in Movement Disorders. The UCLA DBS clinic is a high-volume center and the successful applicant will work closely with the existing multi-disciplinary team in the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery to expand clinical care and research opportunities for patients and families as well as broaden the training for medical students, residents and fellows in the field of neuromodulation and movement disorders. The applicant will also participate in community outreach and CME activities for related health care providers. Participation in research projects within DBS and movement disorders programs is also required as is serving as Attending for the inpatient general neurology service.
