Position description

Under the close supervision of the faculty principal investigator, the incumbent will conduct research in clinical trials of novel diagnostics and interventions for HIV and sexually transmitted diseases using a variety of human clinical trial study designs, including phase 1, 2 and 3 trials necessary for regulatory approval. There is a dire need for improved diagnostics and interventions to address the current epidemic sexually transmitted diseases in the United States and in particular address the continued emergence of multi-drug resistant infection. The incumbent should have experience in the conduct of human clinical trials, regulatory pathways, human subject research compliance and the evaluation of diagnostics and therapeutics using different clinical trial designs including randomized clinical trials, cohort studies, cross-over studies, retrospective and prospective population-based analysis. The incumbent should be a physician with experience and training in clinical epidemiology.
