Position description

The UCLA Music Department invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in vocal pedagogy for the Music Education Program. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with course units.

Responsibilities will include teaching vocal and choral techniques to music education majors and providing them with the pedagogical skills necessary to teach singing and choral ensembles to elementary, middle, and high school students in classroom and ensemble settings.

Applicants should have an established reputation as a performer and teacher with expertise in the skills necessary to nurture future music educators. A post-baccalaureate degree is preferred.

The application deadline is June 24th 2019, with an anticipated appointment date of January 1, 2020. Applications should include a letter stating interest in the position and a philosophy of teaching, comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae, online audio and/or video links representing the applicant’s playing and/or teaching, and names and contact information for at least three professional references.
