Position description

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCLA seeks applications for temporary lecturer positions in both Organic Chemistry and General Chemistry lectures and laboratories during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, writing and grading exams and problem sets, and supervising teaching assistants for the courses. Lecturer appointments are established quarter by quarter according to the instructional needs of the department. Applications will be kept on file for consideration for any openings that may occur throughout the year. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in chemistry, organic chemistry, or equivalent discipline and have significant experience and strong record in teaching chemistry or biochemistry at the college level.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS
Candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy (max 1 page), and should arrange for 3 letters of reference to be uploaded to UCLA Academic Recruit.
