Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor in Developmental Systems Biology

The Department of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology (MCDB), the Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCBio), and the Broad Stem Cell Research Center (BCSRC) at the University of California, Los Angeles, seek to hire an outstanding candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position with an innovative research program that leverages computational and/or experimental approaches to address fundamental questions in developmental and/or stem cell biology.

The ideal candidate will lead a creative and impactful research program that exploits intersections of developmental biology, single-cell analyses, and quantitative modeling. Areas of particular interest include, developmental cell fate decisions, reconstruction and analysis of cell lineages, spatial organization, multi-scale simulations, and theoretical developmental biology.

UCLA hosts thriving communities of stem cell and developmental biologists, computational biologists, and is well-known for collaborative studies across disciplines. Scientists in MCDB and QCB interact seamlessly with those in other departments and institutes on campus, such as the Broad Stem Cell Center, Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, California Nanosystems Institute, Institute for Biological Physics, David Geffen School of Medicine, School of Engineering, etc.

The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate and graduate teaching missions in cell/developmental and quantitative/computational biology. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a documented interest in mentoring and other contributions to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. A PhD or equivalent degree in molecular, cell, or developmental biology, genetics, biochemistry, bioengineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science or related fields.
