Position description

The Department of Psychology is currently hiring for an Assistant Project Scientist. Criteria:
Candidate must have a PhD in psychology or neuroscience and at least 8 years of postdoctoral experience. Job responsibilities include supporting the PI in the design and execution of extramurally-funded projects examining the structure and function of cortico-basal ganglia-thalamo-cortical circuits in severe brain injury. The candidate must have a strong background in neuroimaging with a focus on complex network analysis of human structural and functional MRI data (e.g., statistical parametric modeling; vertex analysis methods, multi-modal and multivariate modeling; tensor-based morphometry; independent component analysis; graph theory; MR spectroscopy; 3D modeling). In addition, the candidate should have demonstrable experience in the field of severe brain injury and disorders of consciousness including working directly with clinicians in Neurology and Neurosurgery. The candidate must also have extensive experience overseeing clinical imaging data collection, quality control analysis, curation, and establishing and maintaining large multi-center neuroimaging databases. The candidate should also have experience developing data analysis methods, and coding procedures for analysis pipelines related to clinical neuroimaging in traumatic brain injury patients. The project scientist should show a track record of supervising graduate and undergraduate students conducting research projects.
Responsibilities include assisting the PI in experimental design, execution of experiments, data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and oversight of the ongoing projections of undergraduate and graduate students. The appointment will be for 100%.
