Position description

The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Vietnamese language starting Fall, 2020. This appointment begins July 2020 and ends June 2021.

Qualified candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in Vietnamese and English. An MA or PhD in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics and/or other language-related areas is required. At least two years of experience in teaching multiple levels of Vietnamese courses at a University is desirable.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a qualified candidate is selected.

Complete application must include: 1) teaching statement, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) names of three references 4) sample syllabi for Beginning and Intermediate Vietnamese courses, 5) Statement on Contributions to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
