Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California Los Angeles invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Adjunct Professor level. Outstanding candidates working in the areas of immunology or virology are invited to apply. Successful candidates are expected to develop an innovative research program and join a highly interactive group of scientists within the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (http://www.mimg.ucla.edu). The candidate will benefit from a collaborative research community spanning the basic and clinical sciences from the Schools of Medicine and Engineering, College of Letters and Science, California NanoSystems Institute, Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research and the UCLA AIDS Institute.

Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD or MD degree with interdisciplinary expertise in material science, virology, molecular biology and use of nanotechnology- based approaches for immune and gene therapies for infectious diseases and oncology. Applicants should have demonstrated an ability to secure federal funding, as well as a strong record of publications and a track record in teaching and mentoring students/trainees. Applicants should submit full curriculum vitae, a 2-page summary describing their current research program and future directions, a brief statement on teaching experience, and three letters of reference.
