Position description

The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine, in tandem with the Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles invites applications for an Assistant Project Scientist. The laboratory is located within CHS under the direction of Professor Mansoureh Eghbali, Ph.D addressing topics related to the role of oxidized lipids in promoting pulmonary hypertension with emphasis on epigenetics and inflammation..

The incumbent should have a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology or physiology and pathophysiology. At least 3-4 years of postdoctoral experience is desirable. The incumbent must demonstrate his/her creative contributions to research in the form of peer-reviewed manuscripts. The incumbent will be responsible for contributing a high level of skills in different animal models of pulmonary hypertension, echocardiography, and hemodynamic assessments of heart, advanced molecular biology and biochemistry, in-vivo gene silencing in the lungs, RNA-Seq analysis, and bioinformatics. The incumbent is expected to work independently in leading his/her own project but also make significant intellectual and experimental contributions to other ongoing projects in the laboratory.
Must have a high level of skills and experience in Computation, Genetics and Systems Biology background, as well as cardiac physiology and pathology.
