Position description

The UCLA Marriage Laboratory is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral scholar position. The successful candidate will work as a quantitative analyst for our research team. Broad objectives of the lab include exploring factors that cause relationships to change, identifying the unique challenges of couples facing social and economic adversity, and determining which interventions and social policies are most effective in fostering healthy and enduring relationships.

A successful candidate will perform the following essential functions:
o Collaborate with Principal Investigators, post-docs, and graduate students to answer research questions by using appropriate data analytic techniques
o Intensive and regular data analyses as a member of our research team
o Prepare methods and results sections of manuscripts
o Data management
o Provide training and mentorship in quantitative methods to team members
o Acquire a strong understanding of research topics and thorough knowledge of the data and programming efforts involved
o Meet regularly with the research team

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
o PhD required, preferably in Psychology, with expertise in quantitative methods
o Expert knowledge of statistical software and modeling programs such as SPSS, Mplus, SAS, and R/R Studio
o Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data, with particular emphasis on longitudinal research designs
o Expertise in, or willingness to learn, dyadic data analysis
o A strong passion for empirical research and for answering complex questions using quantitative methods
o High motivation with an ability to solve data analysis problems independently
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both orally and in writing
