The Assistant Project Scientist is to assist with satellite science operations and provide science data product creation, curation and processing for the NASA ELFIN (Electron Losses and Fields INvestigation) and THEMIS (Timed History of Events and Macroscale Interactions During Substorms) missions. ELFIN and THEMIS study space weather with a suite of scientific instruments. Under the guidance and close supervision of the PI, mission scientists and staff the candidate will develop processing routines for calibrating, storing and accessing the instrument data and support scientists in the correct analysis and interpretation of the data. These functions are all critical to the success of the missions.
PhD in a science related discipline or related field is required.
