Full Professional Researcher Position

The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA currently has an opening for a Full Professional Researcher position to join Dr. Robert Pynoos at the UCLA/Duke University National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS). The NCCTS oversees a national network (NCTSN) of over 120 funded centers across the country dedicated to increasing access and quality of care for traumatized children and families. We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and dedicated researcher to oversee our research efforts in the areas of disaster, terrorism, and mass violence. The Full Professional Researcher will oversee the data evaluation and continued data collection of a 10-multi-site research project examining the impact of school shootings and mass violence events. This position will also oversee data collection for the NCTSN’s terrorism and disaster response activities, training initiatives, and program evaluation. This individual will oversee a team that coordinates with each of these partners, statistical team, and publication review committee. This position requires a Ph.D. in a mental health-related field, with extensive experience in disaster behavioral health preparedness, response, and recovery. Experience in running multi-site research projects with qualitative and quantitative data is required. A strong background in manuscript writing and data analysis is also required, along with experience working with a national team of researchers from different professional backgrounds.

The salary for this position is commensurate with a Full Professional Researcher.
