Position description

The Heaney Lab in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine invites applications for a Postdoctoral position to conduct research on development of novel treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Heaney’s research program focuses on disease model establishment and drug screen. Ongoing projects include identification of therapeutic targets of pituitary and other neuroendocrine tumors.

Qualified applicants must have strong oral/written communication and critical thinking skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in molecular endocrinology, a strong research background in tumor biology and experience working with primary cultures and mice. Candidates will be expected to contribute to ongoing projects and expand novel independent research projects in a collaborative research environment. A Ph.D. is required.

Responsibilities include experimental designs and execution, data analysis, team and conference presentation, literature reviews and paper writing. The candidate will be encouraged to collaborate broadly with research teams at UCLA and beyond and therefore must have good communication, teamwork and leadership skills. Prior experience with cutting-edge computational techniques is desired but not necessary.
