Position title: Lecturer

Position description

The UCLA Department of Musicology invites applications for part-time lecturer positions for the 2021-22 academic year. Salaries commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with number of classes taught.

Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music educator with expertise and experience in the development of music history curriculum including its meaning and importance to contemporary culture as well as its impact. Responsibilities will include individual student teaching supervision and assigned undergraduate and graduate music history courses. A Doctorate in Musicology is required.

The application deadline is August 31, 2021 for Fall quarter, November 30, 2021 for Winter quarter and February 28, 2022 for Spring quarter. The anticipated appointment date of October 1st, 2021 for Fall quarter, January 1, 2022 for Winter quarter and April 1, 2022 for Spring quarter.

Applications should include a letter stating interest in the position and a philosophy of teaching, comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae, online video links representing the applicant’s playing, and names and contact information for at least three professional references.
