Position description

The Division of Digestive Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the VA Greater Los Angeles Health System are seeking applicants for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position in the Stress-Neurogastroenterology laboratory. The candidate will participate in projects involving anatomical profiling of neuronal circuits in the pelvic organs-autonomic nervous system, using tracing, immunohistochemistry, image reconstruction and molecular biology assays. The position will offer the candidate an excellent opportunity to advance their career path and to obtain training in new methodological approaches.

A PhD, DVM or MD is required with some experience and interest in neuroanatomical and immunohistochemical studies and in microscopy and imaging processing. Knowledge and experiences preferred in autonomic nervous system, microscopy, and image processing. The candidate must be enthusiastic, have strong written and oral communication skills, be highly motivated, intellectually creative, able to work independently, and function well as part of a team. Candidates will be expected to contribute to ongoing projects and expand novel independent research projects in a collaborative research environment.
