The G.O. Discovery Laboratory at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a Project Scientists at the Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist level. The laboratory is affiliated with the UCLA Eli and Edythe Broad Cell Research Center, Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Molecular Biology Institute. This appointment will be under the supervision of Professor Sanaz Memarzadeh, M.D., Ph.D., a gynecologic oncologist and molecular biologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
The candidate will be expected to make significant and creative contributions to the study of two epithelial gynecologic cancers, ovarian and endometrial cancer. The work will focus on understanding mechanisms of resistance to standard chemo- and immune therapies in addition to studying normal cells that could be precursors to either cancer type. This position requires a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in basic sciences. Candidates are expected to have experience with molecular biology, cell based studies, in vivo assays, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, FACS analysis, pharmacology ,virology, and immunology. Experience with small animal surgical procedures are strongly preferred.
The level of appointment will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications.
