Position description
The David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) is searching for an adjunct faculty (open rank) to join the Department of Computational Medicine. We are seeking candidates with strong research background in the quantitative biomedical sciences, with emphasis on the development and use of novel mathematical models and computational methods.
UCLA has developed a next generation sequencing-based technology for COVID-19 diagnostic testing and is looking for a Genomic Technology Scientist. The candidate will work on genomic technology to support and expand the Swab-Seq platform, apply the technology to testing services, and expand the technology to other translational research projects. He/she also help develop and conduct new protocols and applications and assist with the implementation of new laboratory development projects and supervise existing lab personnel. Experience in cell culture & CRISPR techniques.
Candidates for these positions will be judged on productivity, creativity, commitment to realistic biological models, mathematical sophistication, and ability to collaborate across disciplinary boundaries.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent by the date of appointment and provide potential for scholarly impact through publications, excellence in teaching, and strong oral and written communication skills. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 at scale 3. The salary range for this position is $106,900 - $284,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
