Position title: Professor of Ophthalmology and Human Genetics

Position description

The UCLA Stein Eye Institute and Department of Ophthalmology invite applications for a tenured, full-time faculty position at the level of full professor to serve as director of the UCLA J. Bronwyn Bateman Center for Ocular Genetics. ’The successful candidate will be considered for the Rory Smith, M.D. and Family Endowed Chair.

We seek a clinician scientist with strong national or international reputation who is interested in significant medical and/or surgical activity, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, research, and publication in professional and scientific journals. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

Further, the Search Committee also seeks candidates committed to contributions to equity, diversity and inclusion and we welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and/or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. Applicants should have a medical degree (M.D. or equivalent), ophthalmology residency training, completed fellowship training or equivalent in ocular genetics, be board eligible in ophthalmology and medical genetics, and be eligible for medical licensure in California.
