Position description

The Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applicants for an Adjunct faculty position at the Assistant or Associate rank for the Medicine Statistics Core (DOMStat). In this position the primary responsibility will be to provide biostatistical collaboration to faculty in the Department of Medicine. Duties include working closely with biomedical collaborators in designing studies, collaborating on extramural grant preparation, using state-of-the-art statistical techniques, teaching biostatistics to medical fellows and junior faculty and presenting study results in manuscripts. Effective collaboration with medical researchers is of major importance. Emphasis will be placed on applicants with a track record of collaboration. Candidate will be expected to teach one course per year.

The candidate must have a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or other relevant discipline; at least one year of post-graduate experience in providing statistical consultation for medical research; experience in assisting with grant preparation; experience with collaboration on data analysis and publication of medical research articles.
