Position title: Postdoctoral Scholar

Position description

We are enthusiastically recruiting postdoctoral scholars dedicated to investigating the cellular and electrophysiologic bases of dynamic sensory coding and hypofunction by vestibular epithelia in the laboratory of Dr. Larry Hoffman, Adjunct Professor and Director of the Vestibular Neuroscience Laboratory at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. This work is highly translational and harbors many opportunities for developing new strategies for investigating peripheral sensory neurobiology neurorehabilitation.

The principal responsibilities associated with this position include single-neuron electrophysiology, vestibulo-ocular reflex recording, and computational analyses of sensory spiketrains in rodent models of peripheral vestibular hypofunction.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent to apply. Relevant experience should include one or more of the following: systems neurophysiology, computational neuroscience, and/or neurosensory behavioral recording and analysis.

This position is available for start dates commencing on/after 1 June 2022. Salary is commensurate with experience, but conform to the salary scale of the US National Institutes of Health for postdoctoral scholars. UCLA adheres to collective bargaining agreements for postdoctoral scholars.
