Position title: Lecturer

Position description

The UCLA Department of Art is creating a pool of candidates to teach courses in all areas of the department. Members of the pool would be called upon to teach lower division, upper division or graduate students during the 2022-2023 academic years, as needed and dependent upon funding.

CERAMICS- Applicants must be able to teach in form construction (hand-building and wheel-throwing) and surface design (glazing and other techniques) and be skilled in the use of throwing wheels, slab rollers, gas and electric kilns, and glazes and raw materials.

INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIO - Applicants must be able to teach across artistic mediums, academic disciplines, and social concerns that extend beyond the framework of individual studio art practice.

NEW GENRES - Applicants must be able to teach across artistic mediums including moving image, sound, performance, installation, hybrid, and emerging art forms.

PAINTING & DRAWING-Applicants must be able to teach the basics of painting and/or drawing including technical skill as well as advanced concepts and practice.

PHOTOGRAPHY -Applicants must be able to teach issues of contemporary photography, encompassing print, installation, and video.

SCULPTURE - Applicants must be able to teach woodworking, metal working, mold-making and casting, and some digital fabrication as well as modeling, carving, casting, welding, and other media.
