Position description
The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine (DAPM) at the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) is seeking to recruit a highly qualified board-eligible or board-certified critical care anesthesiologist in the Health Sciences Clinical - Educator Academic Professorial Series track. Prospective applicant will join multidisciplinary group of critical care physicians who provides coverage of the cardiac surgical, general surgical and trauma ICU patients in Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. This critical care anesthesiologist will have an opportunity to work in operating rooms and anesthetic locations. The critical care division of DAPM is engaged in wide range of academic activities including teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, clinical and basic science research, and hospital wide quality improvement activities.
Candidates are particularly sought who have the following:
- Board certification in anesthesiology and critical care
- Experience working in cardiac surgical ICU, with particular emphasis on mechanical circulatory support and ECMO
- Experience or interest working in Tele-ICU environment
- Track record of dedication to education, research and quality improvement work
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5, Scale 8. The salary range for this position is $246,000 - $380,600 depending on Rank and Step. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
