Neuromotor Recovery and Rehabilitation Center

Position Description
We seek an experienced scientist to advance our research at the University of California, Los Angeles Department of Neurosurgery in the laboratory of Daniel C. Lu, MD, PhD.

Dr. Lu’s laboratory studies neural circuits within the spinal cord. Strategies that recover function after spinal cord injury (SCI) by exciting the interneuronal circuitry through electrical stimulation and pharmacological agonist therapy are subjects of our research. We conduct studies in animal models that decipher the mechanistic basis of recovery after neuromodulation. We validate these findings in humans through clinical trials. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and undergraduate student researchers, preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, and assisting with the preparation of grant proposals.
