Position description
The Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research, Medicine-Pediatrics Section, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position. This position is for a pre-licensed mental health professional with a Ph.D. in either clinical or counseling psychology to provide evidence-based clinical intervention in the field of addiction medicine. This individual will support primary care physicians by using an interdisciplinary, collaborative treatment model to address substance use disorders in patients seen across an acuity spectrum; from residential treatment to outpatient settings, including an intensive outpatient program. The individual in this position will have an opportunity to accrue postdoctoral hours towards CA licensure as this individual will be supervised by a faculty member who is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in interdisciplinary, collaborative treatment models for addiction among adolescent and adult populations. Individuals who fill this role will rotate through multiple clinic locations to gain the full breadth of therapeutic modalities in the treatment of substance use disorders among various disenfranchised populations served by UCLA Health and its affiliates.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from both an APA-accredited graduate program and pre-doctoral internship.
- Skill and experience in providing psychological clinical services to patients with acute or chronic medical problems and their families.
- Skill in various approaches to individual psychotherapy with adolescents and adults.
- Skill in group psychotherapy with adolescents and adults.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and legal requirements.
