We are seeking a highly motivated Project Scientist to join the UCLA Immunogenetics Center Immune Assessment Laboratory. The Immune Assessment Laboratory develops immunological assays for use in clinical research and diagnostic testing related to immune and inflammatory diseases and organ transplantation. The successful candidate will: design and manage projects relating to assay development; develop validated immune function and multiparameter immunophenotyping assays, protocols and platforms that fit in the general strategic objectives of the department; develop SOPs, assay specifications and quality measures; train employees; compile and present experimental results to the project team; prepare publications and present experimental results at scientific meetings; and develop immunological assays for use in clinical research and diagnostic testing related to organ transplantation and immune diseases. He/she should be able to work collaboratively with other areas as part of an interdepartmental project team.
Candidates should have a PhD in immunology, with 4+ years of experience in flow cytometry and cellular immune function assays. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of developing immunological assays for monitoring immune responses in humans.
The salary, title, and level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
