Position description

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCLA seeks applications for a part-time (50%) Assistant Researcher in the area of Heliospheric Physics. The position will involve independent research and collaboration with Professor Roger Ulrich in the application of data from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager experiment on the Solar Dynamics Observatory to the modeling of the north/south magnetic component of the heliospheric magnetic field. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Astronomy or equivalent and a demonstrated background in the reduction and analysis of solar photospheric magnetic field observations and in the modeling of the heliospheric magnetic field based on these observations. Candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, publication list and research statement. The deadline for applications is April 30, 2015.
