The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health is conducting a search to fill two open-ranked tenure-track or tenured faculty positions whose research and teaching focuses on ways of addressing disparities and improving health equity through policies, programs, and/or large-scale initiatives. Successful candidates will hold appointments in one of the FSPH's five departments, which are Biostatistics, Community Health Sciences, Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology, and Health Policy and Management. Successful candidates may also hold a joint appointment across two departments.

Candidates must be strongly committed to cutting-edge research, high quality teaching and public service on health disparities and health equity. Although the specific discipline and field of specialization are open, successful candidates need to have demonstrated experience conducting research into addressing disparities and improving health equity. Candidates carrying out leading research, teaching and service may address disparities/improve equity across a wide range of dimensions including socio-economic status, gender, race/ethnicity, national origin, geographic area, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity, disability, linguistic group or any other related dimension to health equity research.

Responsibilities include conducting innovative research and building or having a strong record of peer-reviewed publications depending on career stage, teaching courses and advising students, active involvement in the school and the successful applicant’s professional field, and continuing or building a successful record of extramural research funding.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, MD, DrPH or equivalent) or be on track to conclude their doctoral degrees before July 1, 2017. We encourage applications from candidates in all disciplines of public health as well as a wide range of related fields including the social, behavioral and environmental sciences, statistics, public policy and public management. Candidates must have excellent research, teaching and service records for their career stage. Faculty appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
