Position description

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCLA seeks applications for a full-time (100%) Assistant Project Scientist in the areas of plasma physics and plasma diagnostic development. The position will involve development and application of an advanced far-infrared Faraday-effect polarimetry-interferometry system for fusion plasma research. All work will take place onsite at General Atomics Corporation located in La Jolla, CA working on the DIII-D Tokamak National User Facility. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field and a demonstrated background in plasma diagnostics and advanced data analysis/signal processing techniques. Candidates should provide a curriculum vitae and a publication list. The deadline for applications is August 4, 2017.
