The Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital is currently seeking applicants for the position of Chief of the Congenital Cardiac Surgery Section of the Division of Cardiac Surgery. The search will focus on identifying an accomplished and highly qualified ABTS certified congenital cardiac surgeon for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank. Candidates with a focus in neonatal congenital cardiac surgery are highly preferred.
The UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital continues to be at the forefront of pediatric heart surgery in Southern California and nationwide. Our surgical team works collaboratively with the interventional cardiology team to perform ground-breaking "hybrid" procedures on select patients to provide a less invasive treatment for congenital heart and valvular disease. The Division of Cardiac Surgery maintains one of the largest adult congenital programs, with excellence in cardiac transplantation.
The candidate must possess the ability to expand the existing innovative congenital cardiac surgery program, and should be an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon with an outstanding record of leadership, research and clinical excellence, as well as a demonstrated commitment to education. Additional requirements include a proven track record of management in academics, national leadership in professional organizations, national recognition for scholarship, M.D. degree or equivalent, and eligibility for California medical licensure. The salary will be commensurate with academic rank and experience.
