UCLA’s Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) is seeking a full-time Professional Researcher in Bioinformatics. The David Geffen School of Medicine is undertaking several large systems biology and genomics studies involving cohorts of patients and mouse models of immune related diseases; these represent a fertile ecosystem for collaborative studies involving data analysis, data driven modeling, and knowledge–based mechanistic models. The position is a 12-month Non-Senate position appointment with all responsibilities of a non-teaching faculty and is governed by the Faculty Code of Conduct. The successful incumbent may function as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator on intramural and extramural grants and as a research mentor for staff, postdoctoral and/or student researchers and will receive intellectual and administrative support from the department of MIMG as well as the Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCBio) and the QCB Collaboratory (http://qcb.ucla.edu).

Specific responsibilities and required qualifications:
• Lead the bioinformatics and data analysis research of current collaborative projects.
• Summarize and Present findings for in person or phone/skype discussions within the collaborative consortia.
• Interface with other NIH-funded project consortia
• Lead or assist in the development of manuscripts
• Lead or assist in the development of other collaborative or independent projects supported by extra-mural funding
Competitive applicants will have PhD degree in a bioscience discipline, and a minimum of 3 years’ of research experience in computational biology or bioinformatics. Rank and salary will be commensurate with expertise and prior experience.
