A postdoctoral position is available immediately to participate in a project involving anatomical and functional mapping of innervation and neural circuit of brain-lower gut interactions. The project is funded through the NIH OT2 SPARC (Stimulating Peripheral Activity to Relieve Conditions) initiative. The grant involves multiple investigators in the US, Germany and Australia with expertise in neuroanatomy, neuroelectrophysiology and molecular biology.
The applicant should have a Ph.D. with some experience and interest in neuroanatomical and immunohistolochemical studies on the enteric nerve system, vagal, spinal autonomic and sensory neurons projecting to and the micro-neural circuity inside the colon will be preferred, in particular, those with experience in CLARITY, 3D imaging, viral tracing and imaris software will receive top priority. Position will offer excellent opportunity to advance career path and to obtain training in new methodological approaches.
