The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a full-time or part-time lecturer position in Japanese language starting Fall, 2018. The appointment is one year, with the possibility of renewal on an annual basis based on performance and funding availability.
Qualified candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English and an M.A. or higher degree in Japanese language/linguistics, Applied linguistics, language pedagogy, education, and/or other language education-related areas. At least three years of experience in teaching all levels of Japanese language courses at college level is desirable. Experience in instructional technologies and development of online (hybrid) materials is highly desirable.
Salary is commensurate with teaching experience, and is based on University of California salary scales. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a qualified candidate is selected.
