Position description

Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Division of Pediatric Nephrology of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA seeks qualified candidates to serve as Director of the Renal Transplant Program. We are seeking applicants with distinction in research, teaching and clinical care. This is a full-time tenured, state-FTE faculty position at the rank of associate or full professor. M.D. or equivalent degree is required within one year of appointment and certification by the American Board of Pediatrics with subspecialty boards in Pediatric Nephrology is required. Applicants must be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in California, at the time of appointment. Individuals with a history of and commitment to mentoring trainees from underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply.

Candidate must have an established, independent research program and participate in the teaching and clinical activities of the division. In addition, since there are rich opportunities in transplantation for cooperative research with UCLA scientists from different departments and in many disciplines; the candidate will play a critical role on a new collaborative strategic partnership initiative in transplantation school wide.
