Position description

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCLA seeks applications for a part-time (40%) Assistant Researcher in the area of experimental Laser-Plasma Physics. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field and a demonstrated background in experimental laser-plasma physics, particle acceleration by intense lasers, computational plasma modeling, and experimental data acquisition and analysis. Specifically, qualified candidates should have a demonstrated background in the design of high-repetition rate laser-plasma experiments in the field of laboratory astrophysics, as well as in numerical modeling of plasmas with magnetohydrodynamic and particle-in-cell codes.
Candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, a publication list and a diversity statement. The deadline for applications is August 10, 2018.
