Position description

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks applications for a tenure-track position in all areas of Materials Science. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to build an active interdisciplinary research program in one or more of the following areas: Structural Materials, Energy Materials, Electronic and Optical Materials. In addition, a commitment to education and teaching/mentoring students of diverse ethnic and cultural background should be demonstrated. Consideration will also be given to candidates whose experience in teaching, research or community service has prepared them to contribute to diversity and excellence.

Applicants must have earned a doctorate in materials science or a related field. Appointments will be tenure track at the assistant professor level, but truly exceptional candidates will also be considered at a higher (tenured) level. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
