Position description

UCLA Extension, a global leader in professional and continuing higher education, seeks an innovative and entrepreneurial manager to oversee a robust portfolio in the department of Education (Job Code: JPF04206). Reporting to the Director, the Continuing Educator II (Program Director) will be responsible for the administration of self-supporting cost centers that annually generate approximately 3 million through 13,000 enrollments in 650 programs.

Under the direct supervision of the Department Director, the Continuing Educator (CE) II shares academic and administrative responsibility for the development, implementation, marketing, fiscal management, ongoing evaluation, and academic supervision of the Education programs. The Continuing Educator will collaborate with constituents and agencies including: the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, the Los Angeles County Office of Education, local school districts, charter school organizations, and other community and government organizations. Additional areas of oversight include coordination of all CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) accreditation activities.

Candidates must have upper-level administrative management experience in an academic environment and be committed to the highest level of academic standards and integrity. Familiarity with educational methods and technologies in traditional classroom settings and online delivery is required. Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates are expected to hold an advance degree in Education or closely related field. A valid K-12 teaching credential is required.

UCLA Extension is entirely self-supporting, receiving no state or campus funding for its operations.

Salary Range: $85,000 -$97,000 depending on experience and qualifications. The position 50% time and subject to a one-year, renewable academic appointment. The University offers excellent benefits including full health, dental, vision, and retirement plan.
