Position description

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a full time junior level faculty member in the Division of Adult Psychiatry in the Health Science series. Candidates must be committed to clinical work and have a specific interest in Emergency Psychiatry along with teaching residents. Requirements include the completion of both a residency in Adult psychiatry as well as experience in emergency psychiatry. The position will consist of a 50+% position in emergency psychiatry, along with other clinical duties in the outpatient department. Attending in a teaching clinic and taking night call are other aspects of this position.
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications by time of hire:

Must hold an M.D., D.O., equivalent medical degree and be board eligible or certified in Psychiatry; Must possess a valid California Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency certificate.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
