Health Sciences Clinical Series
Department of Surgery
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, anticipates openings for physicians in its various divisions. These openings will be at the level of Assistant Professor or above, depending upon the candidate’s qualification and will be in the Health Sciences Clinical Series (non-tenure track).
Criteria for the Professor in Health Sciences Clinical Series:
Health Sciences Clinical Professor series faculty engage in scholarly or creative activities which derive from and support their primary responsibilities in clinical teaching and professional and service activities.
The divisions include: Cardiac Surgery, General Surgery, Liver and Pancreas Transplantation, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery
DUTIES: The incumbent will participate in patient care, resident teaching, medical student precepting; perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity.
REQUIREMENTS: M.D., D.O. or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited institution with appropriate clinical training and experience. Have current or applied for California Medical License and Board-Certified. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professor series.
Positions are dependent upon funding and availability. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.

The salary range for this position is $163,300-$533,000; according to candidate's qualifications and experience, and the division's requirements. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be M.D., D.O. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent.
Candidates must be board-eligible or certified, with appropriate clinical and training experience.
