Position description

The UCLA Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (AOS) invites applications for a position of Assistant Project Scientist whose research will focus on aerosol sensing and oxidative potential chemistry. The research includes the following activities:
• Work with team, developing samples for sensor development activities.
• Work on aerosol oxidative potential assays, their applications and underlying mechanisms.
• Guide students.
• Analyze data and present the results both orally and in written form.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):
• Appointee must possess a recent doctorate degree, in the field engineering, statistics, earth science, or related disciplines.
• Previous training and experience in laboratory and field work and data analysis.
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in fluorescence visible and infrared spectroscopy, aqueous redox chemistry under environmental conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
